Following the excitement and impatience generated by the announcement of Heavy Weekend, which will bring together 6 hard rock and heavy metal legends - Scorpions, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Alice Cooper, Megadeth and Extreme - at Nancy Open-Air on June 21, 22 and 23, Gérard Drouot Productions is today delighted to confirm the names of the 5 other artists who will complete this prestigious line-up.

On Friday 21st, the day of the Fête de la Musique, The Last Internationale will open the festivities with their energetic, committed rock, the signature of this American duo who are becoming increasingly popular in France. Then it's Extreme's turn to confirm their dazzling return to the front of the stage, before the Germans from Scorpions, legend among legends, a band with over 100 million albums sold, come to celebrate with the French public the 40th anniversary of their album "Love At First Sting".

On Saturday 22nd, France's Sortilège will be back on stage to live up to their reputation and talent, delivering unstoppable versions of the classics that have marked a whole generation of French heavy metal fans. They'll be followed by Pretty Maids, a band all too rare in France. A veritable flagship of Scandinavian hard rock, both ultra-powerful and melodic, these Danes have more than one anthem ready to be sung along to at this long-awaited reunion. Then it's time for Megadeth, eminent members of the famous "Big Four" and undisputed masters of thrash metal, to blow the audience away, before Deep Purple, one of the progenitors of hard rock and holder of what is undoubtedly the world's most famous guitar riff, come in to round off what promises to be a day full of memories and emotions.

Finally, on Sunday 23rd, Seattle guitarist/vocalist Ayron Jones, whose recent French tour was a resounding success, will deliver his blues-tinged grunge rock through compositions of rare sensitivity and depth. He will be preceded by Tom Morello, guitarist for Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave and Prophets Of Rage, who will revisit the riffs and solos of the greatest compositions of his three prestigious bands, with his characteristically elastic style, loaded with the craziest effects. Alice Cooper, the forerunner of shock-rock who has been resurrected many times and never ceases to reinvent himself, will then take over the stage with a colorful show. Last but not least, Judas Priest, the metal standard-bearers who've just released a new album to unanimous acclaim, will round off the evening - and the weekend - with their razor-sharp riffs and solos. Some heads are gonna roll!

With these eleven bands, all boasting a repertoire made of reinforced concrete and a proven track record, it's clear that over these 3 days, Nancy will become the capital of hard rock and heavy metal. To their great delight, the public will be able to acclaim all these artists in perfect conditions, either seated in the arena or standing in front of the stage. Weekend and day tickets are available at heavyweekend.live and nancyopenair.com. Since its inauguration in 1993, the Zénith de Nancy has played host to some of the biggest names in live music, and rock in particular. Even more prestigious artists when this 6,000-seat venue, shaped like an electric guitar, unfurls its reversible open-air stage, transforming itself into a vast amphitheatre that can accommodate up to 25,000 people. This is where, in June 1996, AC/DC performed what was, at the time, one of their biggest concerts ever in our country, and where, on June 21, 22 and 23, 2024, the Heavy Weekend will begin its history with this first edition.
