The Ensemble Leszczynski will be delighted to perform the world premiere of Epitaphs of War, in the presence of its American composer John Frederick HUDSON.

It was after hearing a performance of his piece Newtown Psalm on Youtube that the composer contacted Ensemble Leszczynski and offered to rewrite his work Epitaphs of War for him, in a version with 4-hand piano accompaniment (to be played by Dominique Breda and Marc Weber).

Originally written to mark the centenary of the end of the 1st World War, the poignant piece sets poems by Rudyard Kipling (author of The Jungle Book), Siegfried Sassoon and the Odes of the Latin poet Horace; Hudson ironizes the glorification of death for one's country and underlines in 7 epitaphs the horror of war, ultimately calling on everyone to remember, so as never to relive it.

The choir will also perform Dan Forrest's A Bronze Triptych, and Hudson's Newtown Psalm.
