    To introduce our new series of aperitif-conferences entitled "Moches? Lucile Pierron, professor at the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Nancy and researcher at LHAC, talks about the Wiesberg housing project.

    Built in Forbach between 1959 and 1972, this project is one of the most significant achievements of architect Émile Aillaud, whose urban planning principles are set out in his book Désordre apparent, ordre caché (1975). Current transformation projects are putting the Wiesberg back at the heart of the debate, inviting us to re-examine and enhance its qualities.

    The architecture of our cities is varied, as are the views that bring it into being. If you ask yourself the question: "Ugly? the 2026 season of apéro-conférences and apéro-visites questions the image of divisive buildings. It gives the floor to the public and to experts to shed light on a heritage that is sometimes disparaged, and to open up the eternal debate on "beautiful" and "ugly", but above all on many others...
