Caught up in the turmoil of totalitarian political censorship, the three Russian composers on this program have in common the ability to find in their musical language and inspirations the strength and courage to resist.

Sofia Goubaïdoulina, who died last March, wrote one of her most emblematic and spiritual works, the delicate Poème de conte de fées. This fable tells the story of a small piece of chalk, the tyrannical object of the blackboard, but also the instrument of drawings and the imagination.
