Concert - Le XXe Siècle sur Quatre Cordes

Concert by the Ensemble Stanislas on Monday March 16th, 8pm, Salle Poirel, Nancy, with string quartets by the great 20th-century composers Anton Webern, Samuel Barber and Serge Prokofiev.
A musical journey from East to West with contrasting works between 1905 and 1936, Webern closes the door on post-romanticism, Barber signs a masterpiece with his Adagio for strings and Prokofiev asserts a neo-classicism with his rhythms and harmonic colors, strong markers of his music.
