On the occasion of the Festival du Film d'Architecture organized by the Maison de l'Architecture de Lorraine, IECA will host a lecture by Simon Weisse, model maker for director Wes Anderson!
Simon Weisse is a miniature supervisor and prop designer.
He builds small-scale film sets to fulfill filmmakers' wildest dreams. A graduate of the Beaux-Arts in Montpellier, he entered the film industry as a model maker with Les Aventures du Baron de Münchausen (Terry Gilliam, 1988). He builds small-scale film sets to fulfill filmmakers' wildest dreams. A graduate of the Beaux-Arts in Montpellier, he entered the film industry as a model maker with Les Aventures du Baron de Münchausen (Terry Gilliam, 1988). Wes Anderson's layout artist since The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), he has also worked on films by Guillermo Del Toro, Jeunet, Spielberg, Wenders and Lana Wachowski's Matrix Resurrections. At this conference, he will talk about his experience as one of cinema's most sought-after model-maker-accessorizers.
