Stroll through the Jardin Éphémère on Place Stanislas, decked out in Art Deco colors, discover the exhibition Nancy 1925, an experience of modern life at the Musée des Beaux-Arts and marvel at the Saint-Nicolas festive parade, which gives pride of place to the Roaring Twenties, to round off a year rich in events and discoveries around Art Deco.

This talk will focus on the creation of new café-brasseries in the 1930s, and the modernization of existing ones in line with Art Deco fashion. From the end of the 19th century onwards, cafés and other drinking establishments underwent rapid expansion, culminating in the 1910s, with each brewer vying with the others to attract customers and outdo the competition. After the war, the situation changed in line with new business conditions. Café-concerts, often located outdoors, moved into the city center, requiring larger premises to accommodate orchestras, customers and dancers.

    Capacity limited to 200 seats.
