A masterpiece of Baroque art designed by 18th-century architect Emmanuel Héré, the edifice served as a sanctuary for Stanislas and his wife Catherine Opalinska. Erected on the site of a chapel commemorating the Battle of Nancy in 1477, the church is their burial place.
Next to them, a monument is also dedicated to the heart of their daughter Marie Leszczynska, Queen of France and wife of Louis XV.
