The term "Cabinet de Curiosité" refers to a room or piece of furniture in which "private treasures" are stored. These treasures, which are at once rare, strange and precious, can include paintings, antiques, sculptures and, above all, natural history objects. They represent the animal, vegetable and mineral worlds, as well as human achievements.
