Meeting with JEAN-MARIE

Jean-Marie in a few words

I am from the Vosges and i arrived in Nancy in 1975. I saw this city beautify over the decades. Our guests notice these renovated houses that give a certain cachet. Don’t we say that a good Nancy inhabitant has to cross the Place Stanislas once a day?

Why did you choose to become a greeter?

Becoming a greeter is for me a great opportunity to make beautiful encounters, human, warm. Share my city through discoveries.

Your favorites in Nancy?

My two favorites: The Excelsior Brewery, a summary of what these artists have achieved, and Art Nouveau stained glass windows of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Your favorite neighborhood?

The old Town.

Why would you recommend staying here?

There are many good reasons to stay in Nancy:
– Nancy is the cradle of Art Nouveau with many monuments concentrated on the same area
– a certain charm emerges from the city and seduces our guests
– we can go for 4 hours walks and hear “we will come back with friends, family”
– beautiful encounters took place during these walks (Belgians, Germans, Austrians, Peruvians …) and we exchange tips on destinations to visit- proximity to the Vosges and Alsace.

See you soon in Nancy for a ride with Jean-Marie.

To discover the city with one of our Greeters, go to the Discover Nancy with a resident (a period of one week is recommended for the proper organization of meetings).
