Stéphanie Lagarde and Constantin Jopeck met in 2020 during a residency at the Coopérative de recherche de l'Ecole Supérieure d'Art de Clermont-Métropole, and founded a pedagogical research group, from 2021 to 2023, to conduct visual and sound experiments and reflect on the affinities that bind a group of multi-species living beings inhabiting the Millevaches plateau, within a forest threatened by intensive softwood forestry.

Based on this research, they put together a collective archive addressing several themes: the exploitation of other-than-human beings, the fragmentation of biodiversity, the dispersal and uplifting capacities of insects, the authority of the camera and the tools of human domination over the landscape.

In their exhibition at openspace, the artists explore the mutualization of these working materials and present a set of films and archives from these collective experiments, tracing their research into the woven relationships and varied scales that unite the living human - non-human in this specific community of the Millevaches plateau.

This exhibition takes place within the framework of the Suite Program, initiated by Cnap (Centre national des arts plastiques), in partnership with the Académie des beaux-arts, which gives public visibility to a selection of projects that have benefited from Cnap's support for an artistic project or contemporary documentary photography, by accompanying them within the framework of an exhibition. It is also positioned as a tool for promoting the visual arts in local areas.
