A word from the photographers - An aquatic odyssey across France
Embark on a visual journey through France's seven metropolitan river basins, where water flows to the rhythm of life and nature.
This exhibition invites you to discover the striking diversity of these landscapes and explore the stories behind every wave and shoreline.
Three pillars structuring the approach
To achieve this selective and evocative approach, we have chosen to present our vision according to three pillars - the natural beauty of landscapes, human life and biodiversity. These have been our compass for creating coherent photographs in dialogue with each other.
Through a series of panoramic photographs, aerial shots and landscape compositions, we have captured some of nature's treasures, from meandering rivers to lakeshores, from coastlines to flooded meadows.
Waterways have nurtured the history and development of communities for centuries, shaping cultural landscapes and local lifestyles, nourishing populations. We have highlighted the dynamic interaction between water and man through scenes of work and play.
Aquatic ecosystems are home to an incredible diversity of life, from fish to aquatic plants to migratory birds. We plunged into the intimacy of aquatic flora and fauna, revealing the fragile beauty of natural habitats and the crucial importance of preserving biodiversity.
An invitation to reflect
Through these photographs, we hope to establish a dialogue - each image is an invitation to reflect on the place of water in our world. How does it coexist with life, whether human or wild? What role does it play in the landscapes we inhabit or observe?
