Exposition - Los Caminantes - Cristina Escobar

Cristina Escobar is a multidisciplinary artist in residence at Ergastule. She constantly seeks to blur borders, whether visible or invisible. The representation of ruptures, identity and cultural resistance, as well as archipelago thinking, are recurrent in her work, which resonates with our structure.

The multiple Los caminantes, created in our workshops, restores the notion of "border-object" to the image of a "relic" or "sacred" object. It evokes the idea of a new landscape, between heaven and earth, a Non-place.

Beyond the geopolitically situated history to which it refers, this transmuted tool of passage evokes the memory of our own shared history, the one that takes shape through the paths we shape.

These multiples will be presented alongside a selection of works from the artist's body of work.
