The Fauna Maestra (Master Fauna) exhibition revisits the traditional visual codes of the academic plates presented in natural history museums. The highly stylized animals are accompanied by floral motifs and graphic elements reminiscent of these plates and their explanatory cartouches. In a modern, pop-tinted style, Loïc Lusnia celebrates the vitality of nature and pays homage to these conventions, while subverting them to reveal their expressive power.
His works also speak of nature's resilience in the face of human alteration. In the pictorial tradition of Memento Mori, skull motifs dot his paintings, heralding a pessimistic vision of humanity's future. In contrast, flora and fauna, vibrant with form and color, survive and flourish.

The title Fauna Maestra condenses these ambivalences: the Latin echoes academic plates and their scientific rigor, while its translation, "master fauna", restores nature to its original power as it reclaims its rights over mankind.
