Why have there been so few female artists? It's a question you may have heard or noticed.
Women artists have always been featured. They were painters, sculptors, photographers, embroiderers, engravers... and they influenced the arts in the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and even yesterday.
However, they remain largely unknown. This is not due to a lack of talent, but rather to gender stereotypes and social structures that have acted as obstacles.
During the 2026 winter vacations, come along to the Fondation Solange Bertrand's art workshops to discover the contributions of women artists to the history of art.
