For the "Ma nuit au musée" collection, the author of the novels Cendrillon, Le Système Victoria and L'Amour et les forêts chose to spend a night at Rome's Galleria Borghese. In this critical, poetic and ironic account of his quest for the beauty that gives meaning to his life, he interweaves the experience of that night with a fantasy tale reinventing the myth of Hermaphrodite. Between reverie and the realities of our contemporary world, he evokes the works of Bellini, Raphael and Caravaggio, among others, with whom he shares the night of April 30, 2024. But it is lying next to Bernini's "Sleeping Hermaphrodite" that he explores the great question of gender and the violence of love between men and women.
