Following on from Rostand's L'Aiglon and Schiller's Marie Stuart, both of which were staged here, Maryse Estier takes on Feydeau and his hit play Le Dindon. It all begins with Pontagnac forcing his way into Lucienne's home, where he's been following her for three days because he's fallen in love with her. This break-in overturns the order of things, causing draughts that violently open doors to unexpected characters.

This upside-down comedy is irresistible for the intelligence of its misunderstandings and the accuracy of its words. Maryse Estier reinterprets vaudeville in all its whimsical glory, offering us more than a new rendez-vous: a rediscovery. With a few well-chosen cuts, she takes the dust off the story and skilfully underlines the feminism of the farce.

Maryse Estier is associate artist at Théâtre de la Manufacture CDN Nancy Lorraine from 2025 to 2028.
